Weight gain can happen due to several reasons like thyroid, irregular eating habits, etc. Nowadays the one common cause for weight gain among women is PCOD (Polycystic Ovary Disease) or PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome). PCOS is the modern terminology though PCOD is better known. PCOD and weight loss in weeks is the most studied subject among females as weight gain.

The vitamin supplement you choose should have at least 24-55 mcg of elemental chromium. This elemental chromium helps in maintaining blood sugar at the required level and prevents fluctuations which may result in cravings for sweets; this may be dangerous as you are more prone to diabetes. It would be best if your supplements are rich in vitamin B as it helps in quickening metabolism of carbohydrates. Magnesium in your supplements also helps to a large extent as it manages insulin resistance which is a major problem among women suffering from PCOD or PCOS.

Fats which help in boosting your rate of body metabolism should be included in your diet. For example, fish oil supplements which are rich in omega 3 fatty acids are effective at increasing metabolism. Sesame oil can also be included more.

The right exercises are very much important along with your right diet to help lose weigh gained due to PCOD or PCOS. Strength and resistance exercises which help build muscle in your body would be smarter choices to lose weight the right way. The right resistance exercises even for twenty minutes per day can help you a lot. Brisk walking, jogging or aerobics along with resistance exercises would be more effective for your plan to lose considerable weight in less time.

  1. I first had symptoms when i was 17 and was told that i had PCOS (thin people type PCOS) and was officially diagnosed at 22 ans now i am 35. I have always had regular periods and unless on birth control pills were they irregular at times and I had a hard time getting pregnant because of the absent periods. I was always told by doctors that I would have a hard time conceiving so I would only go on the pill periodically which i did for more than 4 years, not for protection against getting pregnant, but just to get a period (since I was told it's not healthy to have less than 4 or so periods a year). Last time I went on a 3 month birth control pill and then stopped again because the medicine was not curing my pcos nor making me get pregnant. I went in search for a cure and ended up with so many drugs, medicine and even soaps that didn't work.
